Storyline: Street food vendor in central China goes viral for exquisite pancake art [Voice_over] In central China's Zhengzhou City, the hottest trending snack these days is a 14-cent pancake sold by a street vendor. 27-year-old Yang Qiankun makes specialty pancakes in the shape of animals, planes and cultural relics. After recording his pancake making process, he uploaded the videos on social media and in just a few weeks he had tens of thousands of followers. Yang says inspiration for his pancake designs could strike at any moment. [Voice_over] Yang Qiankun, Pancake maker: "I have more than 10 categories of designs for the pancake covering fields like the military industry, animals, architecture, cultural relics and sea creatures, to cater to the interests of my child customers. The inspirations may strike me out of nowhere. Sometimes, I will also make ideas from my social media followers." [Voice_over] Yang said at first, he was surprised by the enthusiastic response for his creations. But now he's glad people are flipping over his pancakes. [Voice_over] Yang Qiankun, Pancake maker: "Some of my followers online asked me to design their favorite figures from childhood. They asked for customized designs as a treat for children. So, I filmed two videos of these designs to fulfill their wishes. I found it was an interesting interaction between the people online and offline and a good conversation spanning time and space." [Voice_over] Yang says he learned to make pancakes after resigning from a previous job. Yang has a master's degree in civil engineering. [Restrictions : No access Chinese mainland]
