A cat stuck down the side of a building was rescued by pet owners.

Maricar Ramos and her sister spotted their Persian cat, Winter, hanging by the windowpane after freeing her from her cage in Manila, the Philippines.

The 10-month-old feline, which had recently been spayed, slipped and fell into the narrow gap between two houses, prompting the pair to remove the glass louvres on October 12.

Footage shows Winter pacing back and forth in the tight space as the sisters attempted to lower a pet carrier tied to a rope.

However, the curious kitty only sniffed at it and ignored the bag.

Moments later, their friend prepared a rescue box by tying a plastic straw to a cardboard box and lowering it into the gap.

Winter eventually climbed inside, allowing them to carefully hoist her up and bring her to safety.

The mischievous cat was rescued unharmed.

Maricar said: 'Winter had been spayed just four days earlier. She was actually inside her cage, but we let her out early in the morning so she could eat, drink, and poop.

'Unfortunately, we fell back asleep, and when we woke up, we saw her hanging by the window. As we tried to reach her, she suddenly fell.

'We couldn't get to her from the ground since the space was enclosed and too narrow, so we had to think of another way to bring her out.'
