A group of hikers was engulfed by clouds while at the top of a mountain trail.

Spectacular footage captured by Rizal Ijung shows thick cloud formations blanketing the hillscape below the summit of Mount Arjuno in East Java, Indonesia.

Several men can be seen filming the view as they rest on the rocky mountain on October 12.

Rizal said: 'At the time, the weather at the summit was quite hot, then a large white cloud blown by the wind began to move towards us.

'Suddenly, the air around us turned white, like fog. The temperature dropped because the clouds probably contained water vapour.

'It was an exciting experience, being enveloped in clouds at the top of the mountain. From below, it must have looked as though the mountain was wearing a hat. But we were sure the weather was clear and there was no rain.'
