An Indian tourist was allegedly attacked and robbed by crossdressing male prostitutes he hired in Thai 'Sin City' Pattaya.

Guruvayurappan Kunjan, 47, picked up the sex workers along the city's infamous Beach Road before bringing them back to his hotel on October 15.

He had already begun stripping in his room at the Bella Express Hotel when the men in high heels reportedly demanded 25,000 baht (571 GBP) for the service - far higher than the 500 baht (11 GBP) they had earlier agreed on.

When the holidaymaker refused, the prostitutes allegedly ganged up on him. They were said to have trashed his room, yanked the golden necklace from his neck, and stole 15,000 baht and 25,000 Indian rupees in cash from his wallet.

CCTV footage shows the thugs rampaging through the hotel lobby as guards and employees tried to control them.

They wielded stilettos and a coffee table, chasing after the terrified staff before fleeing.

The tourist and hotel employees filed a report with Pattaya Police after the alleged attack.

A hotel worker said: ‘The gang sneaked into the hotel. They did not give their ID cars and the guest came down stairs asking for help.'

The clerk said that he was assaulted, choked, punched, and kicked by the men, who allegedly berated him for being 'just an employee'.

He added: ‘I didn't have time to look. After I entered the room, I saw one customer already taking off clothes and another already naked.

‘I hadn't spoken, and they already assaulted me. I didn't have time to check. I had to survive first because they ganged up on me.

‘Actually, because they were dressed as women, I felt like I couldn't retaliate,'

A police spokesman said investigators were collecting CCTV footage from the hotel and surrounding areas to determine the identities of the suspects.

Tourists are regularly attacked or caught up in crime, leading Pattaya to be dubbed 'Sin City'.

Embarrassed officials in the central government have launched tourism initiatives to attract families and rebrand Pattaya as a safe destination.

Authorities have also introduced safety measures, such as improved lighting and CCTV.

Despite some success in cleaning up the town's image, alcohol and sex remain its biggest draws, often leading to a high rate of crime and accidents.
