The administration of Al-Rantisi Children's Hospital in Gaza City said on Monday that the Israeli army destroyed the entire facility while withdrawing earlier this month, depriving local children of specialized medical care. The attacks left beds, ventilators, and medical tools scattered among debris, according to the hospital. "The destruction of the hospital will severely affect children and halt specialized services for those with chronic diseases and in need of intensive care. This will increase mortality rates amid the existing shortage of medical supplies," said Jamil Suleiman, director of the hospital. Health agencies warn that Gaza's medical system is collapsing, with most hospitals destroyed or barely functioning. "The health systems in Gaza are on their knees. Only 40 percent of hospitals are partially functioning. Hospitals need supplies and must be able to scale up their services," said Tess Ingram, spokeswoman of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
