This eyewitness video by @omicronart captures the moment a rare EF2 tornado formed over Ermont, France, on October 20, 2025. The footage shows a swirling funnel cloud cutting across suburban rooftops, lasting about 11 seconds before intensifying into a deadly storm.
With winds reaching 140–160 km/h, the tornado killed a 23-year-old construction worker after three cranes collapsed, injured 10 others—four critically—and left around 1,700 homes without power. Uprooted trees and torn-off roofs marked France’s first fatal tornado in 17 years.
The sudden storm struck without triggering the FR-Alert system, highlighting growing concerns that climate change is making such extreme weather events more frequent across Europe.
