Several road barriers were seen floating away on a flooded road following a burst pipe.

Footage shows cylindrical yellow bollards being swept along by murky water on the motorway after the underground water pipe ruptured in Chengdu, China.

Passing vehicles can be seen carefully manoeuvring through the waterlogged highway on October 21.

A spokesman for Chengdu Water Supply Co., Ltd. said: 'The burst pipe was not caused by construction; the pipeline spontaneously ruptured.'

Local media reported that the company is working to repair the damage, while the transportation department has implemented diversion measures at the scene.

Preliminary investigations indicate that water pressure in some areas has dropped, or supply has been cut off entirely. The full scope of the impact is still being assessed.
