Mobile phone footage shows a dramatic collision between a passenger train and a stranded truck in Semarang, Central Java. The truck driver managed to escape moments before impact. Witness Muhammad Fauzi recorded the moment while trapped in traffic nearby.

INDONESIA — A train collided with a trailer truck stuck on a level crossing in Semarang City, Central Java, Indonesia, on October 21, 2025, around 5:10 p.m. local time.

The footage, filmed by Muhammad Fauzi using his phone, shows the empty container truck—abandoned by its driver after getting trapped in traffic—being struck and dragged several meters by the Harina passenger train.

“We were stuck in traffic and heard a train coming. Everyone on our bus got out because we were afraid of an accident,” Fauzi said. “After getting off, we saw the train hit the truck hard and drag it several meters. Luckily, the driver had already escaped from the cab.”

The Harina train, traveling from Semarang to Surabaya, came to a halt after the collision. No one was injured, though both the train and truck were damaged. Local officers later worked to clear the wreckage and reopen the road.
