A scary video has emerged of a gorilla knocking down a woman on her honeymoon trip in Rwanda, Africa.

The footage, shot in March, shows a huge gorilla charging across the grass towards the woman and shoving her to the floor.

On the 18th March the newlywed couple, Damien and Gemma, trekked 2 hours into the Volcanoes National Park in the Ruhengeri region of Rwanda, with its stunning backdrop of five volcanic mountains – The Virungas.
With the rich knowledge of the guides, who have built relationships with the gorilla’s over 20 years, they found a beautiful gorilla family enjoying the sunshine on a grassy flat area.
After observing them interact with one another for about 40 minutes, the Silver back gorilla who was the head of the family, beat his chest and pushed Gemma over on his way to another area.
Due to her pink t-shirt and being nearby the direction he wanted to go, he playfully (and forcefully) pushed her to the ground as her new husband watched on, and captured the footage by the GoPro camera he was wearing on his head.
As soon as she hit the soft landing of long grass, you can hear Damien reassuring Gemma that it was ok and that the Silver back had already moved on without causing any harm.
Gemma was 100% fine, uninjured and found humour in the whole incident.
Gemma and Damien loved seeing the beautiful Gorilla’s in their habitat, and thought Rwanda was a beautiful country to visit and experience. They appreciated that their tourism helped gorilla conservation and can’t believe that their amazing encounter was immortalized by this video!
