VARIOUS OF VOLUNTEERS FROM PLATSDARM RECOVERING BODIES FROM FRONT LINES, PLACING DEAD IN BODY BAGS AND CARRYING THEM TO REFREIGRATED TRUCK SLOVIANSK, UKRAINE - OCT. 21: Volunteers from the Ukrainian organization Platsdarm continued efforts on Tuesday, Oct. 21, to recover and identify the bodies of Russian soldiers near Sloviansk in eastern Ukraine, aiming to return the remains to their families.

Founded by Oleksii Yukov in February 2022, Platsdarm is made up of 10 volunteers who have spent years retrieving the bodies of those killed in combat.

Now operating independently, the group focuses on identifying the dead and facilitating their repatriation, often working under dangerous conditions close to active front lines.
