Deer Freed After Getting Stuck in Tomato Tower in Littleton, CO
LITTLETON, Colo. — Jefferson County Animal Control officers came to the rescue of a mule deer that found itself in an unusual predicament — tangled inside a 4-panel wire tomato tower.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Officers McMullen and Bennett responded to the call after the curious deer apparently decided to model her new “suburban fashion.” When they arrived, the deer attempted to flee, leading officers on a short chase with her fawn before tripping with the metal tower still attached.
Using wire cutters, the officers safely freed the animal, who quickly ran off — hopefully reconsidering her gardening choices.
Officials reminded residents to secure garden equipment, noting that “tomato towers are for tomatoes, not deer couture.”
