This is the shocking moment a train crashes into a truck that was stuck on a level crossing in Indonesia.

The unloaded trailer lorry became stranded on the railway tracks when the crossing gates closed in Semarang City, Central Java Province, on Tuesday.

Footage shows Harina train number 100, travelling from Bandung to Surabaya, colliding with the vehicle at the Kaligawe crossing at around 4:37 pm local time.

The locomotive then dragged the truck for several tens of metres along the tracks.

Despite the violent smash, Gayamsari Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Yuna Ahadiyah confirmed that no fatalities were reported.

Yuna said: 'Fortunately, there were no fatalities in the incident. The truck driver survived after jumping from the cabin seconds before the impact.'

The crash caused significant damage to the front of the truck, and traffic in the surrounding area was temporarily disrupted during the vehicle's removal.
