Phoenix, United States - October 21, 2025 10/20/2025 11:45 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – According to the Phoenix Police Department's duty lieutenant at the scene, officers and Phoenix firefighters responded to the area of 30th Street and Van Buren Street for reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Officers arrived to find an unidentified pedestrian with severe injuries at the scene. The driver of the vehicle who struck the pedestrian did not remain to render aid and had already fled before authorities arrived. The pedestrian was transported to a local trauma center by Phoenix Fire Department personnel in extremely critical condition. Phoenix Police Vehicular Crimes Unit detectives responded to the scene and assumed command of the investigation due to the life-threatening injuries sustained in the collision. A closure was established on 30th Street, spanning Van Buren Street to Monroe Street, while detectives investigated the scene. No suspect or vehicle description was provided by authorities.
