Mariah Carey named MusiCares' Person of the Year
On Tuesday, officials from MusiCares, a nonprofit organisation that raises funds to support musicians in times of financial, personal, or medical crisis, announced that they will honour the superstar during a benefit gala on 30 January 2026. Reacting to the news, Mariah expressed her delight via an Instagram post. "I'm so honored to be named the 2026 MusiCares' Person of the Year," she wrote. "Grateful to be celebrated through this special GRAMMY Week event, raising vital funds to support the music community year-round.” Amid the event, producers will celebrate Mariah's "extraordinary career as well as her long-standing commitment to supporting communities and people in need”.
