Phoenix, United States - October 22, 2025 10/21/2025 10:35 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers and the Phoenix Fire Department were called to the northbound lanes of the I-17 near the end of the Camelback on-ramp to a vehicle collision late Tuesday night. Troopers arrived and located a car fully engulfed, and a second vehicle with severe rear-end damage. The occupants of the engulfed car were able to exit the vehicle before it burst into flames. Troopers temporarily shut down all northbound traffic on the I-17 as firefighters worked to extinguish the fire. At least one occupant of one of the vehicles was evaluated by firefighters for non-serious injuries. The interstate was reopened within an hour after the vehicles were cleared from the roadway.
