Shocking moment thug launches attack on home - with "screaming" family inside
This is the shocking moment a thug launched a terrifying attack on a family home.
Ajay Pal Singh, 53, says he thought a firework has gone off when he heard a noise last Thursday (October 16).
He had just finished dinner with his disabled wife and 10-year-old daughter in Romford, East London when the attack took place.
CCTV footage shows a man dressed in a hi-vis jacket smashing the back window of Ajay's car before turning his attention to the house.
The attacker then breaks the front door and a window before running off - all while motorists drive by.
Ajay said of the 6:30pm attack: "I thought it was just a firework, but all of a sudden glass started coming through the window."
"I was covered with glass – my front window, my porch door, and the rear windscreen of my car were smashed."
"My wife and daughter were screaming, I went outside and nobody was there. My wife rang 999."
Ajay, who has lived Crow Lane for 11 years, says the incident has left his family feeling afraid.
A year ago, the local community activist, who works as a language interpreter, was the victim of an acid attack.
His car was damaged by a corrosive substance, and firefighters had to make the area safe.
Now, Ajay says he thinks his road has become ‘lawless'.
He said: "I feel like Crow Lane is not part of England any more."
"It's lawless."
"[To the attacker], I would say if you have that much courage, stay there after the attack."
"Then you will get a reply back."
"Just a cowardly attack on my property and not showing your face, you're such a coward."
"If you're so courageous, stand in front of me next time, and I'll give you a proper reply."
The Metropolitan Police was contacted for comment.
