Shocking photos show huge 'rare' six-foot shark washed up on Scottish coastal rocks
Shocking photos show a massive rare shark which washed up on coastal rocks in Scotland.
Annemarie Simpson described the deceased 6ft animal, believed to be a porbeagle shark, as "quite a sight"."
She spotted the shark at around 4.30pm yesterday (22 October) at Wick North Head, near Wick wastewater treatment plant, in Caithness, Scotland.
Anniemarie, who lives a short walk away from from the north head and walks the coast often, said: "It was quite a sight!"
"I much prefer seeing sharks in the sea - where they belong. "
"In Caithness we love our nature: we see a lot of orca here so watching the coast is common to report sightings."
"It's not uncommon to find a porpoise or a risso dolphin on the shore in Caithness - but a porbeagle shark, although known in our waters, is definitely a much rarer find onshore."
