King Charles and Queen Camilla’s Historic Vatican Visit. King Charles III and Queen Camilla arrived in Rome for a historic Vatican state visit. The King will meet Pope Leo XIV and join him in a public prayer service. This is the first time a British monarch has prayed with a pope since the Reformation. The visit highlights efforts to strengthen ties between Anglican and Catholic churches. A joint service will be held in the Sistine Chapel with choirs and clergy from both churches. The King will also visit St Paul’s Outside the Walls, a church with royal historic ties. He will be given the honorary title of "royal confrater" by the abbey’s confraternity.
