Storyline: Phase 2 of 138th Canton Fair opens, spotlighting home living, green manufacturing [Voice_over] One of the world's biggest trade fairs, the Canton Fair, is underway in Guangzhou. The second phase of the long-running trade fair kicked off on Thursday, focusing on quality home living. The semi-annual event features more than 10-thousand companies displaying home furnishings for global buyers. Nearly 30-percent of the exhibitors are high-tech enterprises recognized at the national level, and have combined low-carbon manufacturing with creative design. Canton Fair Phase One, which concluded last Sunday, featured about 12,000 Chinese exhibitors. Approximately 66% introduced new technologies, including industrial Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and 5G. One-third of exhibitors came from industries such as new energy vehicles, smart manufacturing, advanced materials, and next-generation robotics. Among roughly 850,000 displayed products, 15% included intelligent functions, 25% related to low-carbon and sustainability, and 31% came from companies with their own intellectual property. The first phase drew a record crowd of more than 157,000 global buyers, up 6% from the previous edition. [Restrictions : No access Chinese mainland]
