Los Angeles, United States - October 24, 2025 10/23/2025 09:30 pm GMT-0700 HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – A small plane made an emergency landing on the sand at Huntington Beach Thursday night, coming down safely near lifeguard towers 11 and 13 and leaving the occupants unharmed, according to initial reports. The incident was reported around 9:30 p.m. near Pacific Coast Highway and Beach Boulevard, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department. A police helicopter pilot monitoring radio traffic from John Wayne Airport heard reports of an aircraft in distress and witnessed the plane touch down safely on the shoreline. Emergency crews responded quickly and assessed the occupants at the scene. No injuries were reported. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board were notified and will investigate the incident. Flight tracking service FlightRadar24 shows the plane had departed from Santa Barbara earlier in the evening. The landing comes just weeks after five people were injured in a helicopter crash in Huntington Beach, marking the second aviation-related emergency in the area this month.
