A shopping mall that was criticised for putting up its Christmas tree too early fixed the problem - by wrapping it in a giant white ghost sheet for Halloween.

Bosses at the CentralWorld complex in Bangkok built the giant festive display earlier this month, leaving visitors baffled by the enormous tree so far away from December.

But quick-thinking managers reacted by making an impromptu Halloween attraction, which is now drawing visitors from across the city.

Footage shows the 131ft (40m) tall cartoon ghoul with spooky black eyes and nose standing proudly in the Thai capital on Friday, October 24.

The mall joked that ‘Spooky Boo' had 'possessed' the Christmas tree to celebrate the Halloween festival this year for the first time.
