- GAZA, PALESTINE — OCT. 24, 2025 RESTRICTION: USERS MUST CREDIT "IHH" HANDOUT— EDITORIAL USE ONLY — The Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) continued debris removal and cleanup operations in Gaza on Friday, Oct. 24, to support rehabilitation efforts following widespread destruction from Israeli attacks.

In a statement Saturday, the Turkish charity said its teams are focusing on northern Gaza, where they are clearing streets, removing rubble, and reopening roads to speed up recovery.

Heavy machinery is being deployed to make neighborhoods and streets accessible again, helping restore safe living conditions for residents.

The IHH, which provides food, shelter, hygiene supplies, health care, and psychosocial support in Gaza, said the cleanup operation is part of its broader humanitarian assistance in the region.

More than 454,000 homes were completely destroyed in the Gaza Strip due to the attacks, and schools, hospitals, infrastructure facilities, and public buildings rendered unusable, according to the foundation.

The foundation conducting its operations with heavy machinery, especially in northern areas that have suffered extensive destruction, aiming both to facilitate the movement of the population and to speed up the distribution of aid supplies.

The first phase of US President Donald Trump’s 20-point Gaza ceasefire deal went into effect on Oct. 10. Phase one includes the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. The plan also envisages the rebuilding of Gaza and the establishment of a new governing mechanism without Hamas.

Since October 2023, Israel’s genocidal war has killed over 68,200 people and injured more than 170,300, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
