A non-league goalkeeper scored a dramatic last-gasp equaliser before saving two penalties to win a cup tie against his former club.

Flo Gislette pounced on a loose ball in the box to draw Benfleet level with Canvey Island in the final minutes of a clash on Tuesday night.

The 30-year-old then stopped two spot kicks in a shootout to send his side through to the next round of the BBC Essex Senior Cup.

Footage from the match shows Gislette, who is originally from France, launching into a knee slide after scoring the crucial goal.

The sales worker said: "Scoring a goal against my old team on this ground for the first time ever was something quite unbelievable. "

"It was a bit surreal. I am really happy about it. I didn't think it was going to be that viral. "

"To get the win for the team and knocking out a team two divisions above was a great feeling. I am still buzzing. I am struggling to find it real. "

"I struggled to sleep that night because of the excitement. It is a nice feeling for sure. It is definitely a standout moment in my career. "

"It was just our night, so it was great."
