1. VARIOUS DRONE SHOTS OF MAKESHIFT TENTS ON QARARA PORT AND COAST GAZA, PALESTINE - OCT. 24: The Qarara Port in the Gaza Strip, largely destroyed during Israel’s two-year-long attacks, became a refuge on Friday, Oct. 24, for displaced Palestinians who lost their homes.

Located between the cities of Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis, the port area frequently comes under fire from Israeli naval vessels patrolling offshore.

With few alternatives for shelter, many Palestinian families have erected makeshift tents amid the ruins, enduring difficult and unsafe living conditions despite the ongoing threat of attack.

The first phase of US President Donald Trump’s 20-point Gaza ceasefire deal went into effect on Oct. 10. Phase one includes the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. The plan also envisages the rebuilding of Gaza and the establishment of a new governing mechanism without Hamas.

Since October 2023, Israel’s genocidal war has killed nearly 68,300 people and injured more than 170,300, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
