The demonstration, organized by Italy’s largest labor union, the General Confederation of Italian Labour (CGIL), began at Piazza della Repubblica and ended at Piazza San Giovanni. Protesters demanded higher wages and pensions, increased funding for health care and education, and a genuine tax reform, while opposing further investment in rearmament programs. Palestinian flags were also displayed during the march in solidarity with Gaza. Organizers said about 200,000 people took part in the rally. During the final gathering, CGIL Secretary-General Maurizio Landini said the march reflected a widespread desire for change across the country. He warned that the government’s draft budget for the coming year risked harming Italy and noted that a general strike could be considered if the demanded changes were not implemented.
