Los Angeles, United States - October 25, 2025 10/25/2025 01:42 am GMT-0700 LONG BEACH, Calif. – Officers from the Long Beach Police Department, along with personnel from the Long Beach Fire Department, responded to reports of a shooting on La Verne Avenue, just south of Second Street, early Saturday morning. Upon arrival, officers found a victim with a gunshot wound to the upper body. They immediately began performing CPR until fire personnel took over the lifesaving efforts. Despite their attempts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Initial reports indicate that a possible suspect, described as a male wearing a white shirt and blue jeans, was last seen fleeing the area in a silver sedan heading toward Second Street. A body shield was requested, and detectives are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
