This is the amusing moment a tourist was spotted living his best life - splashing around on a rubber ring during floods in Thailand.

The holidaymaker made the most of the bad weather by removing his shirt and donning his swimming trunks during continuous rain in Phuket.

Locals watched as he spun round and clapped his hands in the knee-deep water on red-light party strip Bangla Walking Street on October 23.

Onlooker Phonpiphat Khiaoruenrom said: 'This guy was enjoying the rain more than anybody else. He looked so happy splashing in the floodwater. I hope he didn't get a cold.'

The amusing incident came as large parts of southern Thailand were battered by heavy rain brought by Tropical Storm Fengshen, causing flash floods and landslides.

Officials at the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation warned that reservoirs had also overflowed in some areas. Rivers burst their banks and submerged low-lying areas.

Thailand sees torrential rain from September until November ever year as the country reaches the height of its annual monsoon rainy season.
