Terrified passengers see loose rivets shaking mid-air on plane's wing
This is the terrifying moment stunned passengers saw rivets seemingly coming loose on a plane wing 30,000ft above Thailand.
The worrying incident occurred on a Thai Lion Air flight from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, with passengers alarmed by what appeared to be loose screws on the left wing.
Footage captured from the Boeing 737-800 shows the rivets seemingly vibrating in mid-air, prompting travellers to alert flight attendants.
Crew members reassured passengers that the plane remained safe throughout the journey.
Lion Group, through Corporate Communications Strategic Officer Danang Mandala Prihantoro, said: 'After the aircraft landed, the Thai Lion Air technical team immediately conducted a detailed inspection and ensured that all systems and structures were safe for subsequent flight operations.
'We have reported the results of this inspection to the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT).'
Danang explained that the apparent movement of the bolts was normal, caused by airflow and vibrations as the aircraft accelerated.
He added that there were no indications of loose or dangerous components.
Thai Lion Air is part of the Lion Air Group airline in Indonesia and has operated since 2014, following the group's expansion into Southeast Asia.
