A terrifying incident was caught on camera in Ludhiana’s Jagirpur Road area on Friday, when a 10-year-old boy fell into an open sewer in the Golden Avenue Colony.

The child can be seen walking near a park when he suddenly slips through an uncovered manhole. His desperate cries for help alerted a boy passing by on a bicycle, who immediately raised an alarm. Residents rushed to the spot, and one man bravely reached into the sewer to pull the child out.

The boy suffered minor injuries, and his clothes were covered in sludge. Locals said the manhole had been left open despite repeated complaints to civic authorities. They alleged that several other manholes in the colony remain uncovered, posing a serious danger — especially since a senior secondary school and a children’s park are located nearby.
