Cleveland, United States - October 27, 2025 The smallest patients in the neonatal intensive care unit at Cleveland Clinic Children’s celebrated Halloween in heartwarming style as parents and caregivers dressed the babies in cheerful costumes, including a ladybug, boxer, cheerleader, and soccer player. Many of the outfits were donated, with some lovingly crocheted by NICU caregivers, while others were brought in by proud parents eager to share in the celebration. The long-running Halloween tradition at Cleveland Clinic Children’s brings comfort and joy to families spending time in the NICU. “Dressing our babies in costumes brings moments of connection to families during what can be an uncertain time. It’s a small gesture that helps families celebrate milestones and create special memories, even in the hospital setting,” said NICU nurse manager Julie Gamary. Staff members said the event aims to bring happiness and normalcy to families during emotional hospital stays. For many, this sweet moment makes Halloween feel extra special.
