Phoenix, United States - October 27, 2025 10/26/2025 10:11 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Phoenix firefighters and Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers were called to the northbound lanes of the I-17 near the start of the Bell Road exit ramp for a two-vehicle traffic collision Sunday night. The two vehicles sustained significant collision damage at high speed; one at the front end and the other at the rear. Firefighters transported one of the drivers to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to information gathered at the scene. The second driver was also evaluated for non-serious injuries. DPS closed the northbound I-17 at Greenway Road and forced all traffic to exit. The interstate remained closed for several hours as troopers conducted their investigation.
