Gaza - October 27, 2025 The Israel Defense Forces announced that the 99th Division, which included seven active and reserve brigades, has completed its mission in northern Gaza after four months of combat operations. The 252nd Division has now taken over operational deployment in the area. During the campaign, IDF forces destroyed hundreds of weapons depots, observation posts, combat compounds, and terror infrastructure both above and below ground, dealing a significant blow to enemy capabilities. Engineering units of the division also eliminated over one kilometer of underground routes in northern Gaza. As part of the division’s firepower efforts, hundreds of Hamas operatives were killed, including five battalion commanders and nine company commanders and deputies. The division also contributed to establishing the “Yellow Line” and to facilitating humanitarian aid in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. In a joint IDF and Shin Bet operation led by the Northern Brigade, several Hamas operatives — including senior commanders — were killed in Beit Hanoun. Among them were two company commanders from the Beit Hanoun Battalion, who were responsible for numerous attacks against Israeli forces in the area.
