VARIOUS OF INJURED PEOPLE EXCAVATED FROM RUBBLE BEING TRANSFERRED TO HOSPITAL VIA AMBULANCE GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - OCT. 28: On Tuesday, Oct. 28, search and rescue efforts were launched for Palestinians trapped under the rubble in the Sabra neighborhood in Gaza, after an Israeli attack collapsed a three-story building belonging to the Al-Bena family. At least nine people were killed and several others injured Tuesday evening in Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, marking a new violation of the ceasefire agreement, medical sources said. A strike targeted a home in the Sabra neighborhood in western Gaza City inside the “yellow line,” killing four people, while several others remained missing under the rubble, the sources said. The “yellow line” refers to the zone to which Israeli forces have withdrawn under the ceasefire agreement, stretching from southern North Gaza Governorate to the outskirts of Rafah. Five more Palestinians were killed when Israeli forces struck a vehicle in Khan Younis, also within the “yellow line” in southern Gaza. The Israeli army launched a series of air and artillery strikes across the Gaza Strip on Tuesday following orders from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to carry out “immediate, powerful strikes” in the enclave over alleged ceasefire violations by Hamas. According to Anadolu reporters, an Israeli airstrike hit the Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City, while artillery fire targeted areas east of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza. Missiles also struck around the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City. The ceasefire agreement has been in place in Gaza since Oct. 10 under US President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan. Phase one of the deal includes the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners. The plan also envisages the rebuilding of Gaza and the establishment of a new governing mechanism without Hamas. Israel has killed more than 68,500 people, mostly women and children, and injured over 170,000 others in deadly attacks in Gaza since October 2023.
