SHOTLIST: GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE (OCT. 28, 2025) (ANADOLU - ACCESS ALL) 1. VARIOUS OF EXCAVATION WORK TO FIND BODIES OF ISRAELI CAPTIVES IN GAZA GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - OCT. 28: The body of another Israeli hostage was recovered in the Gaza Strip following excavation work launched after a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement between Israel and Hamas, officials said on Tuesday, Oct. 28. Search and excavation teams operating in the Nuseirat Refugee Camp in central Gaza found the body after days of digging through debris, local sources said. Officials from Hamas’ armed wing, the Qassam Brigades, and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) are working to access bodies buried under debris as part of the ongoing ceasefire in Gaza. On Monday, the group handed over the remains of an Israeli captive under the ceasefire deal, which took effect on Oct. 10 under US President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan. Since then, Hamas has released 20 living Israeli hostages and the bodies of 17 out of 28 deceased captives. However, Israel says that one of the recovered bodies did not match any of its captives. The ceasefire plan also envisages the rebuilding of Gaza and the establishment of a new governing mechanism without Hamas. Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza has killed over 68,500 people and injured more than 170,300 since October 2023, according to Palestinian authorities.
