This is the dramatic moment a surgical team remained calm while working through a magnitude 6.5 earthquake in Martinique.

Footage shows medical staff continuing an operation as a tremor struck Fort-de-France on October 27.

A monitoring device can be seen swaying slightly as the team stays focused on their work.

The US Geological Survey reported the quake occurred at 12:38 UTC, with its epicentre 162 km east of Beausjour, Guadeloupe, at a depth of 9 km.

No tsunami warning was issued following the earthquake. There were no immediate reports of damage.
