GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - OCT. 29: Several people, including children, were injured in an Israeli attack on two tents of displaced Palestinian families in Khan Younis city of southern Gaza Strip, on early Wednesday (Oct. 29).
Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes on two tents, housing displaced civilians at the al-Mawasi area, local sources said.
Emergency teams rushed to the area to rescue injured people.
Officials warned that Israel's ongoing attacks targeting civilians, are further deteriorating the humanitarian situation in Gaza despite the ceasefire.
The Israeli army killed 63 Palestinians, including 24 children, in the Gaza Strip since Tuesday evening, violating the ceasefire agreement, according to medics.
Medical sources from Gaza hospitals told Anadolu on Wednesday that the Israeli strikes hit homes, tents sheltering displaced civilians, a vehicle, a shelter, and a hospital inside the so-called “yellow line.”
Dozens of civilians were injured in the attacks.
The ceasefire officially took effect on Oct. 10. Phase one of the deal includes the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners. The plan also envisages the rebuilding of Gaza and the establishment of a new governing mechanism without Hamas.
Israel has killed more than 68,500 people, mostly women and children, and injured over 170,000 others in attacks in Gaza since October 2023.
