China: Industrial park in E China facilitates Sino-Korean semiconductor cooperation
Storyline: Industrial park in E China facilitates Sino-Korean semiconductor cooperation [Voice_over] Inside this Sino-Korean industrial park in Chizhou, you can also find cultural exchanges and friendships developing. With semiconductor cooperation as its core, our first stop is to see how to produce semiconductor chips, the foundation of many electronic devices. [Sound_bite] Kim Han-joon, MBN reporter: "It's a complex process. It's finished. Thanks. Very interesting." [Voice_over] Even for a semiconductor powerhouse like South Korea, chip manufacturing is difficult to develop alone. China, with its policy support and vast market, has achieved rapid development in semiconductor technology. This allows the two countries to build a shared environment for semiconductor cooperation. [Sound_bite] Wang Mengjie, CGTN Reporter: "This semiconductor part is made by a Sino-Korean joint venture." [Sound_bite] Kim Han-joon, MBN reporter: "Indeed. It's great." [Voice_over] With its location advantages and business environment, Chizhou has the only industrial park cooperating with South Korea in Anhui Province. From chip manufacturing to integrated circuit testing, the park has already become a cooperative hub for semiconductor companies from both sides. That's how it benefits the city's semiconductor development. The added value of the semiconductor industry increased by almost 14 percent year-on-year as of 2025. To find out more, we're visiting one of the park's companies. [Sound_bite] Wang Mengjie, CGTN Reporter: "This is great." [Sound_bite] Kim Han-joon, MBN reporter: "Hello there. Nice to meet you. Are you South Korean?" [Sound_bite] Wang Mengjie, CGTN Reporter: "Need to wear goggles." [Sound_bite] Kim Han-joon, MBN reporter: "What is the machine running for?" [Sound_bite] Park Hyoun-bin, Electrical equipment engineer, Anhui Hongxin Vacuum Equipment Co.: "This robot is driving the control part only for testing now. The real products for mass production and sales are there." [Voice_over] Through Sino-Korean joint research and development, the company provides customized services in the fields of semiconductors and photovoltaic systems. [Sound_bite] Lee Won-gu, Design engineer, Anhui Hongxin Vacuum Equipment Co.: "This product is made with bearing parts. We need to insert it from the inside. We need to check it against the drawing once the part is finished." [Voice_over] China's vast market offers tremendous growth opportunities for semiconductor businesses, while the active involvement of South Korean enterprises contributes to local economic development. When industrial cooperation achieves win-win, people from both nations connect more closely. [Sound_bite] Wang Mengjie, CGTN Reporter: "What's your favorite Chinese food?" [Sound_bite] Park Hyoun-bin, Electrical equipment engineer, Anhui Hongxin Vacuum Equipment Co.: "I like everything." [Sound_bite] Lee Won-gu, Design engineer, Anhui Hongxin Vacuum Equipment Co.: "I like hotpot." [Voice_over] During the semiconductor tour in Chizhou, we two reporters witnessed how tech cooperation fuels friendship, and the benefits of being good neighbors for China and South Korea.
