Three women took to their surfboards to celebrate Halloween - by surfing with pumpkins on their heads.

Maday Miller, 28, her twin sister Beau Miller, 28, and their best friend Izzy Lewis, 29, went 'surfing blind' with huge pumpkins on their heads for the autumnal holiday.

Maday said: "Honestly we just thought this would be a bit of a laugh for the weekend."

"We went to a pumpkin patch and got huge pumpkins because our heads are so big - so even the supermarket ones wouldn't fit."

"We carved them out for about two days!"

The surfer from Cornwall admitted they thought the mission would be simple - but swiftly realised how heavy the pumpkins really were on their heads.

She explained: "We thought it would be easy - but once we put them on we realised they were so heavy because they started soaking up the water!"

"Imagine like a weighted bag, or weighted vest on the back of your head and then they started spinning when we were out on the water and the eyeholes were so small it was like surfing blind."

"It was quite literally surfing without being able to see!"

"It was so funny but my neck the next day was so bad!"

A group of people even flocked to the beach to watch the women surfing.

Maday said: "All these people decided to crowd on the beach and watch us - and a lot of them asked if the pumpkins were real!"

"I think they thought they were fake but they were one hundred per cent real."

She added: "It was very hard but so fun and absolutely hilarious "

"I would do it again - we are thinking of doing a Christmas one.."
