Tourists injured after cable car malfunction at amusement park in Nalchik, Russia
On August 8, 2025, in Nalchik, Russia, security video captured a frightening incident at an amusement park when a cable car broke with tourists onboard. In the video, people are seen preparing to ride the chairlift when the engine suddenly fails, causing some chairs to fall to the ground while others remain suspended in the air. Reports stated that 21 people were on the cable car during the incident, with six sustaining injuries. The remaining passengers were safely evacuated. Authorities have opened a criminal case in connection with the cable car failure, which reportedly had a history of prior malfunctions.
