Meet the real-life Addams family who have performed a protective witch ritual to keep themselves safe from demons this Halloween.

JP Kenny, 35, his partner, Kymmi Jeffrey, 40, and their two daughters, Snow, 12, and Pebble, 9, performed the ritual called a 'protective witches' circle.'

They say they performed it - involves opening a portal to 'another dimension' - after feeling the presence of dark energy in their house.

The ghost-hunting family - also known as the Occult Family - as the have been likened to the fictional brood after they became obsessed with the paranormal.

It happened after moving into their home in Cheshire in 2022, which they are convinced is haunted.

They now travel in a hearse called Morticia, and have a museum inside their garage for their 15 artefacts which include voodoo dolls and the UK's most haunted doll called Annie.

At the weekend Snow and Pebble successfully performed the ritual with the help of their parents which the family say removed the negative presence.

Kymmi said: "So far it has worked and we haven't felt the dark energy since."

"It all started when two weeks ago I had sleep paralysis and saw a black faced child."

"I didn't mention it to anyone until Snow said she saw a little person with no face and it had told her that someone was 'coming'."

"I asked her to draw what she saw and it was exactly what I dreamt."

"She then had five dreams in a row about a witch doctor following her - it also came up behind her when she was brushing her teeth."

"So we performed the ritual to protect our family and the house."

"We kept it open for an hour before closing it by washing the chalk away."

"We don't know how it was going to last but it has been amazing so far."

To perform the ritual JP drew a two-metre pentagram

- a five-pointed star drawn with a continuous line - in chalk on their garage floor and placed lit candles at each point.

Then, when it was time (7:30 pm), the girls wrapped a celestite wand in ribbon and placed it in the middle of the pentagram.

Snow then poured salt at each point, before Pebble added water, and they then both walked around the pentagram three times.

The family say this opened up a portal into another dimension and took the negative energy with it.

They have revealed they are unsure where the dark energy has come from, but Kymmi thinks it may have come from a voodoo doll they were given called Vinni.

She said: "Someone sent it to us in the post"

- it came in a protected box.

"It has what seems like black sheep's hair and a bone attached to it. "

"We think the dark energy may have come from there or from something else we have picked up on our travels."

Both JP and Kymmi say their daughters "love getting involved". "

JP said: "They enjoy doing spells and researching herbs."

"They also see energy and we embrace it."

"Pebble finds it hilarious."

"She put out all her Barbies to see if they would move."

"They'd moved when she woke up and she was adamant it wasn't her."

The family are also contacted by their community to investigate hauntings – and take Pebble and Snow along with them.

Kymmi said: "We're known as the haunted family."

"We get named the Addams family or the Warrens."

"We've had builders stop and stare at our hearse on the driveway and take pictures of it."

"It was great to fit the Christmas tree in."

"We're hoping to find more evidence from our investigations."
