This is the shocking moment a road rage tuk-tuk driver attacked a car with a machete in Thailand.

Footage shows the two vehicles stopped at an intersection near the immigration office in Phuket around 10:30 am local time on October 29.

Police said the tuk-tuk driver, identified as Sukit Sumethakul, 74, attacked a Toyota pickup truck belonging to the Office of the Attorney General, driven by Phudit Watthanawet, 45, on the popular holiday island.

After reviewing security footage from the area, authorities confirmed that Sukit had run a red light and collided with the truck.

Phudit said he was shocked when his vehicle was hit. As he stepped out to inspect the damage, he was stunned to see the hot-headed driver holding a knife approximately 20 inches long.

Another clip shows Sukit, wearing a black top and trousers, slamming the car several times while shouting aggressively.

Police officers later found damage on the right side of the vehicle. The rear window behind the driver's seat had been shattered by a sharp object, and multiple slash marks were visible on the pickup's hood.

Sukit was charged with a knife-related offence and fined up to 1,000 baht (23 GBP). Authorities said further charges may follow after the victim files an official complaint.

An investigation is ongoing.
