US: Dog Rescued After Tumbling 40 Feet Off San Francisco Cliff

San Francisco, United States - October 30, 2025 A dog was rescued Tuesday after falling approximately 40 feet over a cliff above Funston Beach in the Fort Funston area. San Francisco Fire Department crews responded around noon after the dog was reported to have tumbled off the cliff in the city’s southwest. Firefighters conducted a low-angle rope rescue to reach the stranded canine. A San Francisco Police Department drone assisted in locating the dog. The dog was unharmed and safely reunited with its owner at the scene.
