The attacks resulted in significant damage to multiple buildings and caused a number of injuries, including children.

Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (DSNS) reported that a nine-story residential building was struck, causing fires in five apartments and on seven balconies on the upper floors. Emergency crews rescued 12 residents from the high-rise.

The assault also impacted the city's private sector, where two commercial buildings were set ablaze and an explosion damaged a single-story house containing five apartments.

Oleh Hryhorov, the head of the Sumy regional military administration, stated that Russia launched 10 drones at the city in less than an hour, all targeting civilian infrastructure.

“There were strikes on a nine-story building and a two-story residential house in different parts of the city,” Hryhorov said, adding that two victims – a minor girl and an elderly woman – received medical assistance on site.

Preliminary information from the DSNS indicates that a total of 11 people were injured in the attacks, including four children. Authorities are working to clarify the full number of casualties.
