UNCAPTIONED: Toyota Previews Futuristic Corolla Concept Ahead of 2027 Launch
Toyota Previews Futuristic Corolla Concept Ahead of 2027 Launch. Toyota has unveiled a near-production concept for the next-generation Corolla, offering a glimpse of what the world’s best-selling car could look like by 2027. The new model promises a more radical design, with a lower, stretched windscreen inspired by the Prius and deeper windows for improved aerodynamics. At the rear, expect a sleeker, fastback-style tapering with a floating rear window and ducktail spoiler — details that give the Corolla a sportier edge. The concept also showcases 3D LED lighting, refined body surfaces, and a cleaner, more futuristic aesthetic expected to carry into production. Inside, the layout features dual digital interfaces — a column-mounted screen for the driver and a large, concealable infotainment display for passengers. The next Corolla will be built on a flexible platform capable of supporting hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and full electric powertrains — marking a major shift from its current hybrid-only setup. Toyota’s luxury arm Lexus also teased its future direction with the LS Coupe Concept SUV, a sleek electric flagship rivaling the Range Rover Sport and Porsche Cayenne.
