US, Los Angeles: Sunland Firefighters Conduct Rescue Amid Structure Fire Leaving 1 Injured 2 Dead

Los Angeles, United States - November 02, 2025 11/01/2025 11:10 pm GMT-0700 SUNLAND, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Los Angeles firefighters conducted rescue operations at a structure fire located in the 10900 block of North Scoville Avenue. Their primary focus was evacuating elderly residents who were reportedly trapped. Additional firefighting units were dispatched to assist in the ongoing efforts, and teams from Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) were requested to provide further support. Earlier, a unit from the mayor's crisis team was sent to the scene, signifying the potential for a fatality. During the fire attack, firefighters located one person who was quickly transported to a local hospital. Their condition is unknown. As rescue efforts continued for the remaining occupants, the Los Angeles Fire Department ultimately confirmed two fatalities at the scene. The cause of the fire and the deaths of the individuals are under investigation.
