Football fans fight in stadium after match in Malaysia
This is the chaotic moment a group of football fans clashed inside a stadium after a match in Malaysia.
Footage shows supporters of Selangor FC and Negeri Sembilan FC throwing bottles at each other following the FA Cup quarter-final match at the Petaling Jaya City Council Stadium in Kelana Jaya, Selangor.
Some fans were also seen hurling firecrackers, sending smoke billowing into the air, while others rushed to safety on October 29.
The Football Association of Malaysia acting president, Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mahadi, said: 'The match was completely controlled by the Malaysian Football League (MFL). A report on the incident will be submitted to them, and any decision or follow-up action will be under the responsibility of the MFL.
'However, we will continue to monitor the situation and ensure such incidents do not happen again.
'In their enthusiasm to support their teams, we hope fans will maintain discipline and sportsmanship. Winners should celebrate modestly, while the losing side should accept the result with an open heart. Football should unite, not divide.'
No injuries were reported from the incident.
Selangor lost 2–3 to Negeri Sembilan but still advanced to the semi-finals with a 6–3 aggregate score, where they will face Sabah FC.
