An automobile shopping carnival was held in Suzhou City, east China's Jiangsu Province from Thursday to Sunday, with dozens of new energy vehicle (NEV) brands attracted visitors to experience their latest products. The event, taking place at the city's Xiangcheng Economic and Technological Development Zone, provided visitors with a variety of engaging experiences, allowing them to sit inside the vehicles to explore new features. The carnival ran alongside the 2025 Vehicle Safety Conference, which gathered over 200 senior executives from global automakers and parts suppliers, industry experts, and local officials in Suzhou to discuss new trends in automotive safety. During the conference, a series of 2025 top-ten awards for categories including bodywork, chassis, and vehicle design were presented. All award-winning models were put on display during the carnival. "The range of models here is very comprehensive. We can see the premium award-winning models from various brands, and the staff providing explanations are also very professional," said Yuan Chengzhi, a local visitor. Many visitors expressed their praise for the quality of domestic NEVs, which was a compelling factor alongside their high cost-effectiveness. "Domestic NEVs are truly excellent. Their interiors, drive and control systems, and all other aspects are very impressive. The prices are quite favorable, too," said a visitor named Liang Yixiang. Beyond the display of the latest NEV models, the venue featured an ourdoor marketplace of automotive spin-offs and delicious food, while subsidies were also distributed to spur consumption. "This allows enterprises to show their technological strength, enables citizens to gain tangible benefits, lets the industry's achievements nourish regional development, and stimulates consumption enthusiasm among the public," said Wu Xiaoli, a staff member of Economic and Trade Development Bureau of the development zone.
