JAKARTA, INDONESIA - NOV. 3: Indonesian president handed over the Airbus A400M/MRTT Alpha 4001 aircraft to the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) with an official ceremony in Jakarta, on Monday (Nov. 3), said the presidency in a statement.

“Important defense equipment has begun arriving. The Airbus A400 will further enhance the capabilities of the Indonesian Air Force,” Prabowo Subianto underlined during his speech at the official ceremony at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base.

The Airbus A400M/MRTT Alpha 4001 is a military transport aircraft capable of operating under various conditions, including on unpaved runways and semi-permanent airfields.

This aircraft also functions as a Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT), capable of conducting air-to-air refueling missions with fighter jets, according to the statement.

The Airbus A400M/MRTT with its versatile multi role capabilities, is aimed to extend Indonesia’s reach in humanitarian missions and disaster response operations across the region, the statement added.
