This is the shocking moment a police officer pushed a woman off a train when she reportedly complained about an 'abuse of power.'

Footage shows the male officer arguing with a commuter before another female officer arrived at Devoto Station in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The agitated male officer, dressed in uniform, can be seen pulling out his handcuffs as the confrontation escalates.

Moments later, the female official forced the passenger to disembark, while the male officer appeared to shove her from behind.

Other passengers can be heard in the background trying to calm the situation.

Passenger Brenda Decoud said the incident happened around 9 pm local time on November 1, after a woman's phone was stolen near the area.

Brenda added: 'The police officers in the front car ran after the thief but missed him. Then, they started yelling at people, telling everyone to get off the train.

'The locomotive was cancelled, and we were confused, asking why we needed to leave. We just wanted to know what was happening, but the police became aggressive, shouting and intimidating people.

'Anyone who tried to speak was mistreated. I couldn't believe it - instead of chasing the thief, they stayed to yell at the passengers.

'That poor woman said the words ‘abuse of power,' and that was it. One of the officers pulled out his handcuffs, waved them in her face, and then they made up a reason to take her off the train. Such a bad experience.'

The trio then left the train, and it remains unclear whether the woman has filed a complaint against the officers involved.
