Los Angeles, United States - November 03, 2025 11/03/2025 02:10 am GMT-0800 DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A structure fire broke out downtown early Monday morning, prompting a response from the Los Angeles Fire Department. The incident occurred in a commercial area situated near the intersection of East 12th Street and Towne Avenue at 771 East Pico Boulevard. Initial reports indicated that a dumpster in the alley was ablaze, which exposed a one-story commercial building. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke billowing from two units within the row of commercial occupancies. They initiated an aggressive offensive attack on the fire, with crews positioned on the roof noting that heavy flames were emerging from all cut ventilation holes. As conditions worsened, the incident commander decided to withdraw all companies from the roof and the building to shift to a defensive strategy and combat the fire.
